CYPRINUS TRADING started its operation in February 2005; it is owned and managed by Francis Pena D.V.M. for sales, technical operations and Jhoanna Pena for finance and administration.

We develop, manufacture, import and market veterinary health and nutritional products for various clients in the field of livestock, poultry and aquaculture. Now, as a new venture we are happy to announce that we are trying our hand in marketing food items for export.

The company is considering the competitive markets globally. We have developed the network of trading at personal individual level. Our business strategy has ensured the lowest prices with grunted supplies within specified period. We deal directly with farm and feed mill owners. Ensuring quality and meet delivery time schedule.

The company’s manufacturing plant, located in the province of Bacoor, Cavite, has a net production capacity of 5 tons/ day of antibiotics feed premixes, water-soluble vitamins and antibiotics and customized protein blends and feed concentrates.

Company affiliate are Waldo Philippines sister company of Waldo United LLC of U.S.A. and J.V.S. Agro Ingredia. Both of which we are major stockholders.

Biography:

FRANCIS EDISON C. PENA is the Operations Manager for Waldo Philippines-U.S. Genetics Corp. He Oversee overall operations of the company relating to breeding, genetics and nutrition.

BREEDING:

• I Implement husbandry practice within the swine operations specifically in the breeding unit and genetics, particularly formulating and implementing specific breeding program to meet clients target market.
• I am in-charge of selection and replacement of gilts, junior boars based on specific reproductive parameters (MLI, TSI).
• In-charge of formulating and implementing specific sound breeding program based on the target market demands (Breeders, slaughter hogs).
• Oversee in the selection of market breeding stocks.
• Gather inputs for analysis and evaluation of the Operations’ productiveness.

NUTRITION:

• In-charge of monitoring feeds and feeding efficiency based on the results of production parameters (ADG, FCR).
• Formulate swine ration based on target performance parameter.
• Implement husbandry practice within the Swine Operation specifically in the breeding unit and genetics particularly formulating and implementing specific breeding program to meet clients target market.

MARKETING:

• Oversee the sales and marketing of breeder swine.

Dr. Peña is also a Veterinary Technical Consultant with Dalisay Farm. His work includes:

• Being in- charge of formulating and implementing programs for the prevention, control, and treatment of different swine diseases (Vaccination, Pulse Medication).
• In- charge of implementing specific husbandry practice within the Swine Operation especially in the Farrowing and Nursery Unit.
• In- charge of monitoring feeds and feeding efficiency based on the results of production parameters ( ADG, FCR).
• Select replacement gilts and junior boars based on specific reproductive parameters (MLI, TSI).
• In-charge of formulating and implementing specific sound breeding program based on the target market demands (Breeders, slaughter hogs).
• Select market-breeding stocks and gather inputs for analysis and evaluation of the Breeding Operations’ productivity.

Comments:

I always had a special interest in the field of animal nutrition and Breeding. As a veterinarian to various food animal farming, I worked hand in hand with animal nutritionist in the formulation and evaluation of the diets’ performance in the different stages of Swine Production. I also successfully addressed and controlled some nutritionally related diseases present in the farms that I handled. I enjoy doing explorations and experiment on new ways to improve management techniques that will ease and improve Swine Farming Operation and animal performance. I also study and experiment on non-traditional feed ingredients and feeding system with the aim of finding ways to further reduce feeds and feeding cost. Currently I am involved in breeding various combination of animal breed that will suit specific target market and adapt to varying production conditions present in Cooperative Swine Farming.
